WIA assigns youth councils a key policy- and decision-making function in the design, development, and provision of services to help at-risk youth achieve successful transitions to further education and employment in high-skill, high-wage, high-demand occupations.
This workshop provides information and tools to help youth council members
- Fulfill the legislative and regulatory function of youth councils
- Define their own youth council’s role in local system development
- Determine goals for the system
- Engage a broad range of youth development and youth-serving agencies in the community
- Advocate youth development and youth services to the local Workforce Investment Board (WIB)
