Building Better Opportunities

for Ohio’s Youth Conference

As many of you know, in an effort to address the current fiscal shortfalls, Governor Strickland has mandated budget cuts across many state agencies including the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS).

This has led ODJFS to make the difficult decision to cancel the 2008 Building Better Opportunities for Ohio’s Youth conference.

ODJFS is making every effort to address the budget shortfalls at the state level to limit the impact on local programs that directly serve youth. The decision to cancel the youth conference does not in any way reflect the commitment to Ohio’s Workforce Investment Act youth programs or to providing youth-serving professionals with opportunities for their own professional growth.
